Creating a Safe, Smooth and Scenic Connection

We’re moving a mountain to make your journey safer and shorter. To do so, a section of U.S. 20 near Eddyville (milepost 16) will temporarily close completely for evening/night construction. This area will also have shorter closures of 20 minutes and occasional single 2-hour closures during the daytime. Know before you go: See Trip Planning.

Play on the Grade

Saturday, October 1, 2016 1-5 p.m.

Join the U.S. 20 community and experience our new section of this historic roadway before it opens to traffic. Bring your friends and family to walk, run, or bike on the almost ready road to key points of interest along the way. ODOT experts will be there to talk with you about the engineering challenges and solutions, wildlife habitat connections, landscaping, and more as the Pioneer Mountain to Eddyville Project nears completion. Click here for Event Details.

The new road will be smooth, safe and scenic and is expected to open in late 2016. Watch this video to see work planned for this year.

To learn about the project’s history, listen to this radio interview (Note: contains previous closure dates). See Why? for more project background.
